[APK] Samsung Galaxy S5 Launcher Ported!

The new Samsung flagship called Galaxy S5 may hasn't even reached the market yet, but we already know how to root it and we also have the launcher ported! It may not be the same but comes with nice animations, original S5 icons and is really fast!

If you like the design of the Samsung TouchWiz, you may actually enjoy this launcher. It's highly customizable, really fast, and considering we don't even have the S5 it's pretty accurate with icons and stuff. It also comes with Android KitKat features such like transparent navigation bars and more.

As you can see on the pictures above, it's really slick and nice-looking due to the transparent bars, along with the icons and wallpapers. It also offers you a smooth animation (which can be customized), that gives the launcher the spirit of the TouchWiz.

I expect it to be updated after the S5 comes out, so be tuned! App is available for free on Google Play:

[SM-G900F] How To Root Samsung Galaxy S5?

The new Samsung flaship Galaxy S5 has not even reached the market yet but we offer you a complete walkthrough how to root the SM-G900F version! And as you might (not) expect, it's easy as a pie.

The Galaxy S5, as we all know, is the new Samsung-powered flagship with a stunning performance of 2.5Ghz. And now, you are watching the complete tutorial to root this beast. It's easy. But before you start, ensure you have the European version (SM-G900F), otherwise you can brick your device and the tutorial will not work.

  • Rooting voids your warranty and increases your flash counter.
  • If you brick your device - don't throw it on me. It's all up to you (of course I'll give you a help hand if you ask me).

Requirements:

  • Enable USB debugging in developer options
  • Properly install the drivers
  • Optionaly backup your files and stuff
  • Odin (download newest version)

  1. DOWNLOAD the package and extract it.
  2. Switch off your SGS5 and get it to download mode. To do this, press Volume down + Home + Power button at once for a few seconds. If you can see the warning triangle, press the Volume Up.
  3. Open Odin and connect your device to PC using a USB cable. (Be sure to run Odin in administrator mode)
  4. If you can see the COM number with an ID box, you have successfully connected your device and you're ready to root it.
  5. Click on the PDA Button and select the package you downloaded in the first step. (CF-Auto-Root-klte-kltexx-smg900f.tar.md5)
  6. Check the PDA, Auto-reboot and F.reset time. Everything except these three boxes are unchecked.
  7. Click the start button.
  8. Pray.
  9. See the PASS message? Good job. You've successfully rooted your SGS5. You may reboot your device now.

Sailfish OS Release Now Available For Nexus 4

Sailfish OS - The new operating system developer by Jolla which can be seen on some Nokia devices is now available in the new alpha release for Nexus 4!

SailfishOS is a definitely slick and usable OS offering some cool features and a bunch of new stuff.
Check out the video for some more info and video footage of working features:

As you can see, the SailfishOS has a really nice icons, design animation and it could worth a shot to just try it out on your N4. However, the ROM is currently in beta stage (more like alpha), because there's not much features working including WiFi, NFC, gyroscope sensor and more.

If you're curious, though, you can give it a try!

To install the ROM, you have to be running on the CyanogenMod 10.1.3 ROM. After that, just simply download the package, wipe out the data / do the factory reset, and flash the zip.
The entire installation procedure can be found on the XDA thread HERE.

How To Properly Charge Your Phone + Myth & Facts About Charging

Charging is one of the most important process if we want to keep our phones alive. We repeat this process daily, but are we really doing it right? Let's check the next walkthrough called How To Properly Charge Your Phone.

First of all, let's watch and bust some well-known myths about charging and reveal some facts:

Fully charge + fully discharge: Is it right?

Nop. Well, it's not any bad if you do this, but this method is completely unnecessary in newer phones using Lithium batteries. This method was used because of calibration of old batteries with memory effect, such as NiMH or NiCd. If you own a newer phone, you don't have to fully charge and discharge your phone.

However, it's known that newer types of batteries (LiOn/LiPo) don't like extremes - which means 0% discharge and 100% charge. If it's possible, don't let your phone to completely discharge and plug out your charge just before the percentage hits 100%.

Don't keep your phone discharged for a long time

This is bad. If you keep your phone with completely discharged battery for a week or two, your battery will be totaly damaged and you can go and buy a new one. If you know you won't use your phone for a long time, charge it up to 50%. (Again, don't charge it completely.)

Keeping your phone charging overnight

You can wave goodbye to your battery.
Check the original post:

Is it necessary to use the original charger?

It is. You may use a more powerful charger which will charge up your battery much faster, but this also damages your battery. If you have enough time to charge your battery with the original charger, use the original one.

Enemy #1 - High temperature

Lithium batteries literally hate high temperatures. For instance, if you leave your phone in 40C (104F) for one year, the battery will lose 35% of its capacity.

One more tip - It's not a bad idea to turn off your phone while charging.

Link Bubble - An Awesome Facebook Chat Head-Styled Browser!

We all know the Facebook Messenger pop-up chat heads, which lets us to chat and do other stuff simultaneously at the same time. Have you ever wondered about a browser made like that? Meet the Link Bubble - A revolution in mobile browsing.

This is just an awesome solution for web browsing on all devices. The app is simply made, with a nice design, animations, UI and everything. I personally don't miss a thing here.

If you want to copy the link adress, or share the page, just flick the bubble and you're done. Moreover, the browser has a favourite chrome-features incognito mode, download manager and more cool stuff.

The app comes in lite version for free, but if you want to use all the features, you have to pay about 5$. I can say it worths a buy.

Frequency - How Much Time Do You Spend On Your Apps?

Have you ever thought about how much time do you spend on your apps? Is it Facebook? WhatsApp? Or maybe some game? You could only guess. But now, with Frequency, you get cool statistics about how much time do you excactly spend on your favourite apps.

Can you even imagine the time spent over Facebook? Google+? Or other social apps? Or maybe games? Or our Android Hackz app? You can easily find out now with Frequency!

Frequency has a simple and slick interface, colorful design and many functions - you can sort apps, see the excact time and more.

If you're worried about your battery life, you can easily set the custom refresh interval of measuring the time, which will either improve your battery life but measuring will be less accurate.

The bad thing is, you have to re-lauch this app every time in a free version so if you want to take this app seriously, I suggest you to buy a pro version.

[APK] LG G2's 3D Polar Bear Wallpaper Ported for all Android devices

If you are informated about the Android world around us, you probably know the awesome LG G2's 3D Wallpaper called "Polar Bear" that looks like a normal 2D wallpaper, but as soon as you scroll around the homescreens, you can spot an awesome looking 3D effect and the ordinary 2D wallpaper suddenly turns into an amazing 3D live wallpaper.

The wallpaper comes as an APK file and can be installed on any Android device (I guess). It's just a live wallpaper so all you have to do is to download the APK file and then set the live wallpaper called Polar Bear.

[APK] Samsung Galaxy S5 Apps Ported!

It's been a while the new Samsung flasgship Galaxy S5 is introduced and first ported system app from this device are already out and available for other devices. If you want to try them out, just give it a go and see how th new UI of SGS5 looks!

First of all, ensure your device is running on the newest Android version (KitKat), otherwise the apps will not work. Note also, some of the apps might crash sometimes or just don't work at all. It's all kinda experimental now.

You may experience problems with S Health application and if you don't own a Gear Fit, don't even install the Gear Fit manager because it useless.

Screen Standby Turns The Screen Off While Also Keeping Your Device Active

This is a well-known problem that annoys the most of the Android fans. If you enjoy listenting songs on YouTube, you certaintly miss the audio playing while screen off. Not only YouTube listeners miss this problem but also Ingress players or streamers. Well, if you want to get this feature - you have an amazing opportunity thanks to Screen Standby app!

IF you often download a huge files over WiFi with keeping screen enabled, you probably know the overheating problems and a high battery drain. Screen Standby does the thing - it just simply turns your display off but also keeps your device active!

Screen Standby also offers remote controller feature, which mirrors your screen activity tou your PC. The app is an open source and the source can be found on the original XDA Thread.

It has a ton of customization and settings, such like Search Plugin, which enables the function using the Google Now gesture or by holding the search key (if your device does not support soft bar).

App is now available for free on Google Play Store, and if you want to try out the beta APKs, you can download them on the XDA thread. You can also find out more info, FAQ, source code and more.

HTC M8 Wallpapers + Sounds - Ported!

HTC M8 - A brand new high-end Htc model, which hasn't even been officialy introduced, now reveals all of the official wallpapers and even system sounds. Now, you can get them also on your Android device!

There's no surprise about leaks of wallpapers, sounds or even apps even though the model hasn't been revealed at all.

The wallpapers look really good to me, it seems Htc is focusing mostly on the nature and details. Try them out to see if they also fit your device!

To completely install the sounds, just copy the tracks over /system/media/audio.

[APK] Nokia X Launcher, Store, Music and Email Ported!

Some of the apps from Nokia X like browser have been ported almost immediately after the phone has been released, now the list has been expanded by next three apps: Nokia X Store, Nokia Music and Nokia Email!

I would personally suggest and recommend these apps to low-end smartphones, as they don't really contain any fancy design or advanced animation. Although, if you're curious about the interface, you can get them, too!

Nokia X Store

Nokia X Store offers some basic apps and games like Twitter, Skype, BBM Messenger and a few game. As you can see, app has a really basic UI. Nothing special.

Nokia Music

Nokia Music does really look like the Stock Music Player in Android 2.3 Gingerbread. Again, nothing special. Just pure simplicity.

Nokia Email

And again, nothing special here. These apps might be useful for your parents, or grandparents, as they doesn't really require any smooth animations or complex interface, though.

Installation procedure

To install these, just download the APK file and install as a normal application. If that doesn't work, push the app to /system/app, set the permissions and reboot (this requires root access).

If you want to try the launcher out, you gotta be rooted. To install, download and flash the zip via custom recovery, reboot, press the home button on your device and choose your prefered launcher.

How To Survive In The Wild Using Your Smartphone?

Have you ever thought about this? Well, this may actually happen. Imagine yourself in the middle of nowhere somwhere in the wild and the only thing you have ... your smartphone. Will you survive? You should take a look at this survivor's guide.

Firstly, if you love your phone more than your life, then you don't really need to read this. If you're about to use your smartphone in the wild, you gotta...broke it. Well, still better than be dead, right.

There are a bunch of useful things in your phone: speaker, LCD screen, metal, wire, circuit board and battery. Check the picture to see where you can find them:

Fire Starting

To start the fire, you will need the wire and the battery from your phone. Touch the wire to the positive and negative nodes. This will become hot immediately. Be sure to have some combustible material to make the fire.

Cutting Tools

You can also cut tools and make a "knife" from your smartphone. you will need a metal mount and a circuit board. Aslo bring some rock to sharpen your knife.

Signal Mirror

To call the help, or signalize the airplane flying by, you can make a signal mirror using the LCD screen from your phone. This is an effective way to signalize.

Compass

To make a compass, you need a magnet from your speaker. You will also need the wire, puddle and a leaf that you have to find in the environment.

Catching Food

Have you ever thought of catching the food with your circuit board? Well, this may become reality someday. I believe a rock may be more comfortable to work with in certain ways, though.

[APK] Sony Xperia Z2 Live Wallpaper Ported

Sony Xperia Z2 is the new flagship from Sony, brings up alot of new stuff including a slick wallpaper, which as you might expect, has been ported and is available to all Android users. Does not require root to work!

The wallpaper looks very cool. It does not move by default, only if you move your finger, though is relatively "heavy"  - it takes about 30MB of RAM. Anyway, the app is light-weight, it will only cost you about 300Kb of data, and you don't be rooted in case you want to have this wallpaper.

To get the wallpaper, install the APK file, and change the wallpaper.

[TOP 5] The Best Minimalistic Games For Android

We all like to play some games and relax for a while. While home, in work, in school, in a bus..just to kill the time. But what games to play? Here comes the top five list for the best minimalistic games for Android devices.

If you have some free time, let's say in a bus, just a few minutes before the bus arrives to a destination, would you play Grand Theft Auto or Dead Trigger? Would you play any challenging "campaing" games while in a bus? I don't think so.

In this situation, this category of games is probably the best for you. Minimalistic games. One simple objective, simple interface, no thing such as campaing mode or story. Let's see the list. I hope you enjoy it.

7x7

7x7 is an awesome minimalistic puzzle game where you have to connect 5 or more blocks with same color.
The game has an awesome interface, no time and it's simple. Also very addictive.

Strata

Another awesome game called Strata has been nominated for most innovative game design. You'll know why, when you open it. Awesome design, fancy animations, beautiful interface. This is one of the best games I've ever played. The goal of Strata is to strategically layer colored ribbons to match a pattern. Using forethought and strategy you must sequence your moves correctly. Over time patterns emerge and your tactics may evolve, but Strata will keep you on your toes with increasingly difficult puzzles. A must-have for me.

Super Hexagon

If you download the Super Hexagon for the first time, you will probably freak out and close the game immediately. However, it will get better for the second time, and soon you will get addicted to the game.
Minimalistic games have to be addictive, and I can assure you, this is one of the most addictive games ever.
Also one of the hardest ones.

Auralux

To be exact, Auralux is a strategy. A "Music Strategy", maybe. You goal is to occupy all the planets and defend yours. Every second a new warrior is created. If you own two planets, you will recieve two warriors at a time. You can also upgrade the planets to generate more. It's also highly addictive.

Dots: A Game About Connecting

As the name says, Dots is a game about connecting...dots. Again, it's a beautiful - connecting, logic and minimalistic game, where your goal is to connect as much dots as possible and gain the highest score. Game has a few modes available, included time-mode.

Lucid Launcher - A Slightly Different, Yet Beatiful and Handy Android Launcher

There are too many beautiful launchers out there but the problem is, they aren't really smart in any way. You have to click many, many times just to open your browser. And that's bad. Well, if you are looking for a beautiful but also smart and handy launcher, you might enjoy the Lucid Launcher - as I call it, A slightly different but still the same.

I am the type of a person that needs things to be beautiful and gorgeous but also insist to be useful. This is kinda problem because there are a bunch of beautiful launchers such like Themer but the problem is, I don't find this launcher useful....at all. On the other side, I like and currently use the Google Now Launcher - I appreciate the option to access the Google Now by just one swype of your finger. This makes things faster than any other launcher.

But then I tried the Lucid Launcher. It's fast, beatiful but also useful, handy and smart. It's also slightly different from the rest of launchers out there. But I'm sure, you will enjoy this change:

Lucid Launcher - screenshot thumbnailLucid Launcher - screenshot thumbnailLucid Launcher - screenshot thumbnailLucid Launcher - screenshot thumbnail

As you can see, browsing on the homescreen is different. Instead of horizontal swype, you swype your finger vertically to browse your widgets. To access apps, swype your finger to the right. If you want to quickly access your browser, swype to the letf, and you're there!

Lucid Launcher also offers a smart search function and sidebar which lets you to open your favourite apps quickly. As you can also see, launcher looks very beautiful and has the translucent (transparent) navigation bars for KitKat, which makes this launcher even more beautiful.

App comes in a free and paid version. If you want to support the developer and unlock some awesome stuff like page animations, sidebar themes, custom search text, transparency options and much more, I suggest you to buy the full version.
