How to change IMEI on Android?

IMEI, The International Mobile Station Equipment Identity is a unique number given to your phone. It is mostly printed on your device's battery or can be found by entering *#06# on the dialpad. The IMEI is used to identify devices and can be used for tracing a lost device. Here's how do you change it.

There's is actually a pretty simple way to do it, unfortunately it does not work on all devices. You might give it a shot!

  1. Enter one of these pins on the dialpad (this is the hardest part, it might not work on your device):  *#7465625# or * # * # 3646633 # * # *
  2. The engineer mode should appear. Go to connectivity tab.
  3. Tap on CDS information
  4. Tap on Radio Information
  5. If you have a dual-SIM phone, you'll see two options. Select the one you want to change.
  6. Put the new IMEI number in the correct form:
AT +EGMR=1,7,”IMEI_1” and “AT +EGMR=1,10,”IMEI_2” (replace IMEI_1 and IMEI_2 with your IMEI number)

For instance:
AT =EGMR=1,7”9100XXXXXXXXXXXX"

Where 9100XXXX.. is the IMEI number.
